Sumbawa

There are no friends
Along this shore
And Wind has torn away
The keepsakes;
Of the life I tied
Against the moulding bay

White gulls of praise
Circle above
As rising waters creep
And dive through
Many sailors nose
That dot the aqua deep.

The warm embrace
Of salty waves
Engulf my smiling face
Please tell those friends,
If they do look,
They’ll find me in this place.

And though this sea
Has many veins
They’ll know just where I lie,
By mapping out
The ocean’s pulse
Against
The watching sky.
