A writer fears to coil herself around a man
for he might love just her words
and not the pen that inks emotions;
because amidst all the ugly things in the world,
she, above all ladies, have the power
to paint surreal perfection
and realistic impressions.
A writer fears to find that she cannot write anymore
when all that’s left are blank and torn pages
of her once-glorified self
because writing has been her breath
and the sign that she still have a grasp with her soul.
A writer fears that the world
will see her life as an open book,
though she writes herself in her every piece,
she never did want for them to see her,
to pity her, to judge her,
for all she wanted is to set free
the outpouring sadness
and happiness inside her chest.
A writer fears every word she decided to write
and every line those words procured
in her parchment, for those lines might turn
into monsters that will swallow the whole of her
