Venice

Her sunburnt hair forgot
the joys of the sunshine
of a summer long gone
the storm gathered about her
the winds rustled the leaves at her feet and moved through her hair
The storm was drawing near
and her world stood on edge, breath held for the turmoil about to come
suddenly the tornados began to dance about her
lightning struck and thunder rolled.
She ran seeking a calm, her calm.
And amidst the rising tempest the rain began to pour.
But she never feared the rains.
Because though the lightning struck and the thunder rolled
And the winds swept it all apart
The rains washed it all away.
