I imagine you like an addiction.
Remember the old man three doors down,
how he reeked of beer at eight
in the morning, he was married to it.

And there you are, my routine fix.
I fear my pores will seep your scent
though I’ve scrubbed myself clean
or my lungs would exhale your name
whenever I breathe.
